Scientific Research
The American Heart Association’s Tobacco Regulation and Addiction Center (A-TRAC) conducts scientific studies on the health effects of tobacco products and their constituents, with a larger focus on new and emerging tobacco products such as e-cigarettes. Supported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, A-TRAC is one of 14 centers nationwide funded to perform scientific research that informs the regulation of tobacco products.
